The property was first established 38 years ago when we built our house on the working beef and sheep farm. As the house has undergone several renovations, the garden has grown with it. Native plantings intermingle with deciduous trees and over 150 roses adjoined by lawned areas. Abundant bird life in the garden enjoy the water features throughout.
The new area that’s been purpose built for hosting weddings and ceremonies was cleared of bluegums early in 2015. Starting with a clear area we designed the central circular limestone wall and steps to be surrounded by landscaped gardens. Truckloads of soil conditioner and manure were added to the beds as the soil was so degraded by the bluegums. Limestone paths now meander around the grassed central area. The bridal party has a couple of options to make their grand entrance, either down the limestone steps, or from the rear rose covered arch to walk between the guests to a raised pergola area for the ceremony. The garden abounds in the perfume of roses, lavender, colourful annuals and perennials. The property is approx. 1 acre of garden. Lots of lovely photo spots throughout. Old farm machinery depicting the history of the local farming area is a feature, rustic seats etc. Overlooking pretty hillside grazing land and the Chapman Brook.
